Our Fundraising Heroes

As the nation welcomes a new Australian of the Year, we thought we would also celebrate our own Australian heroes of 2018.

As the nation welcomes a new Australian of the Year, we thought we would also celebrate our own Australian heroes of 2018.

Thank you to all our wonderful, committed fundraisers across the country who stood with refugees last year and helped raise funds to support UNHCR’s work.

Here are just a few of our fundraising heroes, thank you to all of them.

Caleb Lee

Caleb learned about refugees after volunteering at an asylum seeker food drive organised by his Kindergarten in 2017. He decided to raise money for Australia for UNHCR instead of receiving gifts for his fifth birthday because "they need toys, schools and a house more than I do".

In 2018, Caleb again asked for donations instead of gifts and has now raised $1700. He is one of our youngest fundraisers ever.

Be like Caleb for your next celebration and start your own fundraiser.

The project received donations for this initiative, which were donated to Australia for UNHCR.
