Horn of Africa Food Crisis

Help UNHCR provide safe shelter, cash assistance and life-saving aid to drought-stricken communities.

People in the Horn of Africa are experiencing the longest and most severe drought on record.

This crisis is threatening the lives of millions of refugees, internally displaced people and host communities across Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya. Water sources have dried up. Crops and livestock are gone. Families have been forced to flee their homes in search of food and water.

As resources become more scarce, conflict is rising and pushing even more people to flee. At the same time, food prices are skyrocketing because of the full-scale war in Ukraine, making it harder for families to survive.

The hunger and displacement crisis is urgent. Please donate now.

After losing majority of their livestock in the drought, Diyaro and her eight children left their home in Somalia and fled to Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya.

"I lost the only source of livelihood I had to the drought," says Diyaro. "But I am glad that I haven't lost my children to hunger."

Please donate now and help UNHCR provide critical aid to vulnerable families affected by drought.
