The Blueberries

Blue Skies for Ukraine

Australian band-for-change The Bluesberries are harnessing the power of music to raise funds for people displaced by the war in Ukraine.

The Bluesberries include musician and BBC journalist Daniel Fallon, renowned English composer, producer and keyboardist Paul Beard and Australian entrepreneur and musician John McMurtrie AM.

Together, they have written and recorded Blue Skies – a song to promote peace and show solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

"Under blue skies, I'll hold you in my arms. Under blue skies, we are one."

The Bluesberries collaborated with 70 Australian and Ukrainian musicians to record versions of Blue Skies in both English and Ukrainian.

The Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine recorded a symphonic arrangement of Blue Skies at a cathedral in Düsseldorf, Germany, while 28 members of the Shchedryk Kyiv Children’s Choir recorded choral arrangements for the project in a studio damaged by war in Ukraine.

Three music clips were also filmed in four cities - Düsseldorf, Berlin, Sydney and Kyiv.

Support the people of Ukraine

Blue Skies will be used to raise much-needed funds to support people who have fled Ukraine or been displaced within the country. Royalties from the song will go to UNHCR's campaign to support Ukrainians affected by the war.

As winter approaches, people in Ukraine are facing freezing temperatures in damaged homes or buildings, with disrupted energy, heating and water supplies.

By purchasing Blue Skies, you can help UNHCR repair homes and distribute winter relief items such as thermal blankets and heating appliances.

“Under blue skies, I’ll hold you in my arms. Under blue skies, we are one.” - Blue Skies lyrics
