Australia for UNHCR is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing life-changing humanitarian support to refugees and other displaced and stateless people who are supported by the United Nations Refugee Agency (The UN Refugee Agency). We achieve this by raising funds for UNHCR's international humanitarian operations.

Our fundraising support helps UNHCR respond to humanitarian emergencies when they occur, providing vital practical emergency support such as shelter, medicine, blankets, jerry cans and cooking sets. It also enables them to keep providing support long after the media spotlight has faded, funding long term project that would not exist without our Australian donor support. We also support programs and projects for health, education, shelter, clean water and sanitation, and women and children.

Outline & Purpose of Role:

We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Team Manager in Sydney, who can take our D2D Fundraising team to the next level.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Drive the growth of the D2D fundraising program to achieve objectives and targets
  • Motivate team members to achieve and exceed daily and weekly targets
  • Lead by example working with the team to obtain pledges
  • Create a fun and positive team environment so that frontliners can work to the best of their abilities
  • Monitor team performances and provide support and additional coaching/training where necessary
  • Ensure that any serious issues arising from field operations affecting program management are communicated to the Campaign Manager
  • Train new staff on the street, provide additional ‘on the job’ training and identify any other training needs of team members
  • Meet the individual daily sign up targets prescribed by A4UNHCR Set daily sales targets for team members that will meet the individual sales targets for each team member and in alignment with A4UNHCR F2F monthly targets
  • Monitor individual team member performances and provide sales support where necessary
  • Undertake sales meeting at the commencement of each shift
  • Provide daily reports to the Sydney office on the team’s sales achievements
  • Advise A4UNHCR F2F Program Assistants of availability for work
  • Ensure that the team’s workplace meets OH & S guidelines, including adequate work breaks
  • Monitor the hours of work of team members as stipulated by A4UNHCR
  • Ensure that all team members are professional advocates for A4UNHCR in their appearance and communications with the public
  • Be familiar with and ensure that all team members abide by the Code of Conduct set out in the A4UNHCR Frontliner Employee Handbook and the FIA Standard of Face to Face Fundraising Practice
  • Represent A4UNHCR at external meetings or Skillshares as requested by A4UNHCR

Skills & Experience

  • Experience and knowledge of F2F fundraising techniques preferred
  • Experience in managing sales teams
  • Must be available to work FT, including weekends.
