Outline & Purpose of Role:

Australia for UNHCR is an international aid agency that raises funds from Australian donors to support the humanitarian operations of the UN Refugee Agency. Established in 2000 as part of a global fundraising network it has now raised more than $160 million from a broad network of individuals, community and corporate partners.

We are looking for an engaging, motivated and organised Community Fundraising Coordinator, to work closely with our Events, Community & Corporate Fundraising Manager, to develop and support seamless events, as well as provide support to community fundraisers, activities and corporate supporters. The role will be also be responsible for the coordination of volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with community fundraising enquiries, including providing fundraisers with appropriate fundraising materials, i.e. fact sheets, pictures, posters, running singlets, caps, etc.
  • Assist with project managing third-party community fundraising events such as City2Surf and Run Melbourne.
  • Assist with maintaining/updating the Team UNHCR website.
  • Maintain/update third-party fundraising platforms such as Everyday Hero, Go Fundraise, MyCause, etc.
  • Create appropriate materials for events, including table top signage, holding slides and photo loops.
  • Support with pre-and post-event communications, including motivators, thank-you letters and plaques.
  • Keep up-to-date budget trackers.
  • Attend community and other fundraising events both in NSW and interstate, as required
  • Oversee and nurture relationships with Work Place Giving (WPG) partners, and liaise with WPG platform suppliers (i.e. Good2Give, Benevity, Universal Giving).
  • Assist with developing and preparing presentations and packages for existing and prospective corporate partners.
  • Coordinate A4U Volunteers for events, special projects and general office assistance, including induction, monitoring workloads, updating of volunteer database and ongoing communication with volunteers.

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:

  • Good time management, planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to liaise with and engage stakeholders and third party suppliers.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience in maintaining organised systems and files.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel & Powerpoint
  • Previous experience working in a fundraising or marketing environment would be highly desirable
