Microsoft in Kosovo During the Kosovo emergency in 1999, Microsoft developed a computerised registration program that enabled UNHCR to register thousands of refugees and give them legal protection and assistance. The program has been repeated in the Middle East, Africa and India. See moving first-hand evidence of what regaining an official identity meant to one Kosovan refugee: “They gave me back my name”.

Eni in Azerbaijan Italian energy company Eni built 400 limestone houses in a war-ravaged area of Azerbaijan, a community rebuilding project supporting more than 3,000 people. Eni has also built community and educational facilities, health centres and income-generating projects.

Fuji Optical around the world Since 1984 Japan's Fuji Optical has donated eyeglasses, hearing aids and other items to help thousands of refugees in many countries, and sponsored optometrists for a vision-screening project in Armenia.

Corrs Chambers Westgarth Australian law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth provides free legal services to Australia for UNHCR. In addition Corrs now runs a workplace giving scheme, with Australia for UNHCR as one of the recipients of staff contributions.
