Who Is UNHCR?
UNHCR – the UN Refugee Agency – is the only organisation with a mandate from the UN to protect and assist the world’s refugees.
What is the Emergency Response Team (ERT)?
The Emergency Response Team is a specially trained group of UNHCR staff ready to assist in emergencies at 72 hours notice. Last year alone the team responded to over 50 emergencies, helping to deliver life saving essentials like food, water, shelter and health care.
How we are funded
We depend on you - only 3% of our funding comes from government sources - the rest is from organisations and individuals like you.
Why we need you to join
Monthly help from you with provide our team with steady, reliable income all year round. Your monthly donation will enable the team to prepare for future emergencies – and go straight into action when a crisis occurs.
Alternatively, you can make a one off payment.
What you can achieve
$25 per month provides survival kits for 2 refugee families.
$50 per month provides all season tents for 5 families.
$142 provides a family with an emergency survival kit including shelter, blankets and cooking sets.
What you will receive
As an Emergency Response Team member you will receive invites to team briefings, regular updates and an annual tax receipt, plus the knowledge you are making a real difference to the lives of refugees who desperately need your support.
